HAJEX FIT gives general information about exercise and nutrition for healthy adults: exercise demos, workout plans, suggested weights and reps, timers, calorie targets, meal plans, recipes and a food log. It is not medical, nutrition or physiotherapy advice, and it does not replace a doctor, registered dietitian or other health professional who knows your situation. This page is part of our terms of use.

Check with your doctor first

Talk to a doctor before you start a new exercise or nutrition plan, or make a big change to one, if any of these apply to you:

  • a heart condition, chest pain, or you have been told to only do exercise a doctor recommends;
  • you feel faint or dizzy, or lose your balance;
  • high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, or another long-term condition;
  • you are pregnant, recently gave birth or are breastfeeding;
  • a recent injury or surgery, or ongoing joint, back or bone problems;
  • you take medicine that affects your heart rate, blood pressure or blood sugar;
  • you are over 65, or starting again after a long break;
  • you have, or have had, an eating disorder.

Stop and get help

Stop exercising right away if you feel chest pain or pressure, severe shortness of breath, dizziness or faintness, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or sharp or unusual pain. Call 911 or your local emergency number if the symptoms don't settle quickly.

Exercise safely

  • Warm up, and learn each movement with a light weight before adding load.
  • For heavy free weights, use collars and safety bars, and a spotter when you push close to your limit. Never take a heavy barbell lift to failure alone.
  • Suggested weights, reps, rest times, "as many as you can" sets and the voice coach are general guidance. Adjust them to how you feel on the day, and stop a set early if your form breaks down.
  • "Areas to protect" marks exercises that commonly load those joints. It is not a diagnosis and doesn't tell you what is safe for your body; follow your doctor or physiotherapist.
  • Check that equipment is in good condition and used as its maker intends.

Nutrition and food

  • Calorie and protein targets are estimates from standard formulas, based on what you enter. Your real needs can differ.
  • Meal plans and recipes are examples for healthy adults. They are not a treatment for any condition and not meant for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, or with diabetes, kidney disease or an eating disorder, unless a health professional guides you.
  • Don't use HAJEX FIT to eat less than is safe for you. If you notice unhealthy habits around food or exercise, please talk to a doctor.
  • Food log values come from USDA FoodData Central and similar public data. They are averages: real brands, recipes and portions vary. Values you add yourself (quick add) are your own.
  • Protein powders and other supplements appear in the food list only so you can log them. We don't recommend supplements; ask a doctor or pharmacist before using them.

Allergies and intolerances

Recipes, meal plans and foods may contain common allergens, such as milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, wheat and gluten, fish, shellfish, sesame, mustard and sulphites. We don't check ingredients against your allergies or intolerances. Always read product labels, ask when eating out, and make safe substitutions yourself.

Trainers

Trainers on HAJEX FIT are independent professionals. Check their qualifications and tell them about your health before you start. Their programs and advice are their responsibility.
